What will happen in The Handmaid's Tale season 3, episode 10?
WARNING: This article contains spoilers for The Handmaidâs Tale season 3
The Handmaidâs Tale season three, episode 10 will be released on Hulu next Wednesday (July 24).
The next episode follows on from the last where June was forced to remain in the hospital room with a dying Ofmatthew (Ashleigh LaThrop).
At the end of the tense episode, June told the dying woman she plans to take as many children as she can out of Gilead.
However, a promo for the next episode of the Hulu drama hints this will not be the focus of episode 10.
The trailer opens on a welcoming ceremony for Commander Winslow (Christopher Meloni) led by Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) where all the handmaids are lined up.
Winslow approaches June and Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) says to him: âGeorge, you remember Ofjoseph.â
He says that he does and asks June how she finds living with Commander Lawrence.
The promo cuts to a clip of Waterford, Winslow and Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) discussing Lawrence.
âCommander Lawrence - we may need to set an example,â Fred says.
Viewers will know that Commander Lawrence is a complicated character in the show, having been responsible for designing Gilead but also helping Emily (Alexis Bledel) escape to Canada with Juneâs baby Nichole.
Throughout the third series, June has been assigned to his household but has been given more freedom and not made to take part in ceremonies.
The ritual is one of the most horrifying parts of both the novel by Margaret Atwood and the Hulu series where the handmaids forced to have sex with their commanders.
However, in the promo, it seems that Lawrence is being made to take part in some form of ceremony in the company of Serena, Fred, Winslow, his wife Eleanor (Julie Dretzin) and June.
Lawrence also reads from the bible passage that the commanders read before the beginning of each ceremony.
The speech begins: âAnd when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.â
âYou helped to create this world,â June reminds a tearful Lawrence as the trailer ends on his wife breaking down in tears.
The promo clip also hints that June may be beginning her pledge to save the children of Gilead as she appears to be leafing through files on the handmaids and marking when children have been born.
The next episode of the show looks set to a particularly dramatic one for June and the Lawrences with the implication that Commander Lawrence may not survive much longer in Gilead.
Viewers will have to tune in next week to the Hulu series to see what will happen.
The Handmaidâs Tale season 3 episode 10 airs Wednesday, July 24 on Hulu.
